The following has been added to the documentation: In the case of a Point marker drawing, the Size setting in the Drawing tool configuration specifies the half-size of the ellipse. So the diameter will be twice the size. When Size Based on Bar Spacing is enabled, then the size will be based on the chart bar spacing.
