I've setup this study with the alert condition "=OR(CROSSFROMBELOW(C, SG1), CROSSFROMABOVE(C, SG2))" I'm not sure where I've gone wrong because it isn't triggering whenever price makes a new high or low through the line. I've noticed that the study readjusts the high/low line as soon as price moves up so does that mean that price never actually crosses the line? Or should it trigger an alert and then readjust the high/low? I've attached screenshots of my settings. Any ideas on where I should look or what I should do to get it working? |

What you are trying to do will not work in this case, because, as you state, the High/Low will keep adjusting, therefore the Closing price never actually crosses over the High/Low. It sounds like you are wanting to be notified if there is a new High or Low reached on the current bar. If this is the case, then refer to the following study: New Daily High/Low Alert Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
