Hello, I am looking into this. In order for me to program this study for Sierra Chart, I need to know two things. First, what is the meaning of Smoothing Function? It is not defined anywhere in the link that you provided. Second, Custom Smoothing Function is defined recursively, but nowhere in the link is it ever initialized. What should be its initial value? |

Hello, Would this link and Excel file (provided by the link) help you in Post #4? DecisionPoint Price Momentum Oscillator (PMO): https://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school:technical_indicators:dppmo Yes thank you, this answers both of my questions. Smoothing Function is the same as Custom Smoothing Function, and Custom Smoothing Function is initialized using a simple average. A request if you're able to create the PMO indicator: Can you allow for the Custom Smoothing Function to be user-defined, e.g using the Open or HL Average, instead of the Close price? Yes, my intention was to allow for an Input Data input, just as in most of our other studies. I will program this and submit it to Sierra Chart Engineering today. |

John - SC Support Its great that you took the time to create the PMO study a SC user needed. Could you also create this indicator a user requested? Trendline(Ray) Study |

Although not exactly what you are looking for, but have you tried the Calculator drawing tool? You can display the Price of the endpoint of the calculator and display it at the end of the line. This price will then update as you change the line.

Not what I was looking for... If a hand drawn trendline(Ray Tool) provided its value as a subgraph, then a user could use the Trading System Based on alert study. To place trades when current price crosses over and closes above or below the trendline. That would allow users an easy way to have a Trend Line trading system without having to code a full blown trading system by hand. |

Just so you area aware, you can reference the Anchor points of a drawing and use those in Alerts. You will find the documentation for this here: Study/Chart Alerts And Scanning: Referencing Chart Drawings

Tom I've been having some serious performance issues after installing the PMO. My PC is an I7 2GB RAM 720 MB Disc that is cleaned and scrubbed. When the PMO is applied to a second chart the performance becomes very slow. Thought you might want to look into this. Thanks |

We had a quick look at "Price Momentum Oscillator". There is nothing in that study which would cause any type of performance issue.

Chartbook has 6 charts all ES 4Min, 60Min, 2 Dailys (1 minimized), Weekly and Flex Renko PMO is on my Flex Renko 5-4-1 chart. When I add the PMO to the 60 Min it gets very slow. Hope this helps. |

Now on V 1823 32 bit Is this the version you were referring to? Previously when running a System Mechanic scan I kept getting low memory errors that were corrected. I will keep monitoring. Thanks |

Are you running any custom studies? If so, one of those may be the cause of the issue. The Sierra Chart built in studies will not be a problem.
