Hello,

how do I display historical charts from world-wide exchanges from Interactive Brokers (IB)?

For example, in IB application, I can list stock from Hong Kong ('168 SEHK', which is Tsingtao Brewery), but I cannot load it in Sierra Chart. I've tried 168-STK-SEHK, 168-STK-SMART, 168.SEHK, 168.HK, but none of these worked.

I'm getting only delayed data from IB for this exchange. Is that it? - that SierraChart doesn't display IB's delayed data?

Thank you,
Ales

You may need to specify the currency as well:

Whether you should get delayed or real-time data we do not know. You have to ask Interactive Brokers about that. Sierra Chart can be provided either real-time or delayed data. It can handle both.

I've specified currency (168-STK-SEHK-HKD), but still no luck.

When I tried to set chart via Chart Setting, I've got following error:

Currently no data in file to display. Will start historical data download and real-time updates. File: C:\Program Files\SierraChart\Data\168-STK-SEHK.dly | 2013-10-22 08:58:28

Here is an error I've got when trying to display the chart via QuoteBoard:

And later similar error:

Is this something you need to look at, or should I ask IB? And If its error on IB side, what specifically should I tell them?

Thank you,
Ales

Now that we see the Message Log, it is clear what the problem is. Select Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Historical Data Service Settings >> Use Primary Service Server.

After this, go to one of the Historical Daily charts that you did not get data for and also has the correct symbol, and select Edit >>Delete All Data and Download.

Thank you, that seems to solve previous problem, but there are new ones. Here are messages from Log:

It says that I don't have a data permission, but these are delayed data that IB provide for free, and I can display and chart them in IB TWS application.

You will need to ask Interactive Brokers about this:
Invalid Real-time Query:No market data permissions for SEHK STK.
