I'm looking to reduce slippage by using marketable limit orders at the specified price, if the bid/ask changes as I click/or while the order is travelling to exchange - I would like to automatically cancel the pending limit order.

Thank you

Edit: Also what's the deal with the "Buy ask" and "Sell bid" buttons, wouldn't that just do what a market order does?

You might try to use the Time in Force of Immediate or Cancel:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main >> TimeInForce (Time in Force):

Although this may not be supported by the exchange.

Yes this would be equivalent and still give you the protection of only getting a fill at the current pricing.

So you're saying that if I simply use the "buy ask" and "sell bid" buttons, I will not have to worry about setting time in force to immediate or cancel?

I tried setting the time in force to immediate or cancel however my limit orders still came up pending.

Edit: It's showing "Child client" type pending limit orders.

Not really. You may still want to try that particular Time in Force.

A Child Client order would be for an Attached Order. Are you referring to Attached Orders?

Yes, I am using an attached order, a bracket order. 2 tick target/stop.

When I have TIF set to immediate or cancel the non marketable limit orders are still pending and aren't cancelled if not immediately filled, i.e. the child client order line displays, I am not familiar with "child client" in general.

How should I proceed?

There simply is no support for what you are looking when using Attached Orders.
