I use manual changes of chart speeds (Minutes, seconds, range ticks, etc) during the day to improve chart indicator responsiveness. Typically the delay to see changes is several seconds (15 t0 30) or more, on my slow computer between time I enter new bar time and when it is observable. Is this delay due only to computer speed or are delays built-in? If I get computer 10 times faster, will the respons time inpove apx 10 times faster? I am using data from real-time data feed,( recorded history of tick based data) so I am excluding data-feed speeds from the response issue.

Is this delay due only to computer speed Yes primarily. If I get computer 10 times faster, will the respons time inpove apx 10 times faster? Theoretically yes. Good idea to get a machine with at least six cores, and at least 16 GB of memory. Also, refer to: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ChangingPeriodOfBars.php#ImprovingPerformanceOfLoadingChartData Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
