Trading Sierra Chart with IQ Feed, IB Account. Currently in simulation mode due to this issue. In the chart trade window when I click Buy MKT order is entered at the same price every time. All Sell MKT orders do the same, but at a 1 tick lower price. It doesn't matter if I have Attached Orders turned on or not. If entered in the market at that price, when I exit it exits at that same price no matter where price actually is. Example; Trading NQ: Buy Market show on chart candle at 3201.25, but Show Order Fills says 3206.50. Flattened position at 3206.75 but Show Order Fills says 3206.25. And no matter where I enter and exit, it shows 3206.50 for a buy and 3206.25 for a sell. The TOP shows these incorrect numbers as well. What do I have wrong? Thanks

Market orders do not have a price. However, Sierra Chart will set a price on them so you can see the order line temporarily until the order fills. However, this price is never sent to the trading service. The price that you will see for a market order before it fills will be based upon the current Bid and Ask prices. Check these in Window >> Current Quote Window. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Thanks for the reply. I was trading in SC Sim without IB connected to the trading platform. So I had IQ data coming in but no trading platform attached. I then tried it with my IB SIM account connected and all performed correctly. I am thinking this is because of the two different symbols between IQ and IB, but could you explain that if for any trading, I need to have my data source and the trading account connected? I would have thought that for SC Sim trading it would have pulled price from the data source. In the setup with the original issue, prices were not filling at the bid and ask. No matter where price was, buys filled at 3206.50 and sells filled at 3206.25. This happened repeatedly. Thanks |

OK we understand what is going on. The problem is because you were not connected to Interactive Brokers there was old pricing that the orders were being filled from. We are going to make some changes in the next release to use the data directly from the chart and if the chart gets data from another copy of Sierra Chart, it will use that. In the case of a live trading, you would never have an issue like this. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
