i've just started using SC to trade with IB. i'm questioning myself about the order execution. if i buy 1 ES contract and use the Flatten button, SC will close my order, right? if i buy 1 ES contract and 5 minutes later, buy another contract so that i have 2 long position, if i want to close the last position entered, do i click the sell mkt button for 1 contract? will SC send a close order for my last entry or try to open a short position and get an error because i can't be long and short at the same time? does IB knows that when i have a long position open and send a sell order that it is actually a close order? is there a setting to set to make sure SC understand that i don't want to edge when i use the sell button with an active long position? |

1. Yes. 2. Yes. You will use the Sell Market button. 3. In the case of futures, your existing position will be reduced by 1. It will not open a short position. 4. Interactive Brokers properly adjust the position based upon the new order fills. You will always have only a single position. 5. Sierra Chart does not support hedging so there is no setting for this.
