Hi When using the above for forex data, in the <historical data service settings> should the source be <use primary service server> or < use sierra chart historical data service> and what would be the most appropriate download time given forex charts start new bar at 5pm and run 24 hours? Thanks |

We recommend using the Primary Service Server. For the download time we would recommend using 17:30 New York time. It depends upon when the historical data for the day is finalized from FXCM. Thanks I have set this time for download. Also, I still seem to be getting some weird bars on different crosses. For example eurjpy - i have attached 2 pics, one from sierra and one from another platform as to how bar should be looking. I cant work out what is causing this? Thanks |

In historical fx charts, sunday and monday data apparently are merged into one bar. Thats why there is a big doji in the sierra data. Also note, the bar date is sunday, and there is no monday bar. Makes sense in my opinion, because this way you do not lose sunday's data, and indicators like ATR do not get skewd lower due to a seperate sunday bar. If you switch to a 1 day intraday chart and disable weekend data, it looks more like the other chart. |
