I am getting unknown server, then unknown response error. I have referred to your solutions, but no success. It does not look like my computer has a proxy address. I have a Sierra Chart 858 login box that does not have a block for HTTP proxy. Please help.

Really don't want to do that, if at all possible. I have many folders already set up that I would have to recreate. Also have a technical study add-on that I don't think I can get on the new version. Any way to work around this?

You should be able to open your Chartbooks in the new version without a problem. We would expect the global configuration though would not be updated when you update from such an old version.
