The 6pm open on Sunday 18th (USA ET) gave a 6 tick aligned renko bar with a huge wick (see attached) with a bar lasting for nearly 6 hours and containing volume of nearly 18,000. A normal 6 tick renko bar (not aligned) displays sensibly (also attached - vertical line marks 6pm open). Like wise a 5 tick and 7 tick Aligned Renko chart displays as expected (not attached). I have read the documentation on how a renko bar is aligned ie the bit about a new Aligned Renko bar being formed when a price is encountered in the bar that has no remainder when divided by the Bar Size (being tick size x bar size ie .00000050 x 6 = .000003). First of all I assumed it was because price traded through those price points that leave no remainder when divided, but I thought this unusual given the one nearly 6 hour long bar has a range from .0094110 to .0094405 and a healthy volume of approx 18,000. So then I pulled up a Number of Trades per Bar chart set to Trades = 1, with a Draw Type of Line on Close (attached). By my reading of this, price opened at .0094240 and then traded at .009423 and .009426 (both divide for zero remainder) within the first 20 seconds. Price then continued on and traded at .009429 (within 5 minutes of open) and .009432 (within 13 minutes of the open) - both of these leave a remainder of zero when divided. These later two price points actually traded should have been enough to trigger a new aligned renko bar (5 tick setting). In summary from what I can see the 2nd bar of the day should have at least started within 13 minutes of the 6pm open, not nearly 6 hours later as shown in the screen grab. I am on V 1697. Display Price Format is .0000001 and Tick Size is .00000050. Gap Fill = None. Mode is New Trend Bar when Range Exceeded together with New Bar when Open Crossed (I have tried other settings and it makes no difference). New Bar on Session Start. Hmmm, I thought I replied to this 15 hours ago, but I must have hit the wrong button. I tried V 1704 and it made no difference. I have now just tried v1705 and that has not fixed the problem either. I can now confirm that the issue exists both for the start of trading at 6pm USA ET on Sunday and now Monday as well. Thanks |
