Is it possible for the Symbol to be updated in Chart Settings by using a link to a spreadsheet? We have 500 charts we are updating on a nightly basis with a different Symbol each time. It would save a tremendous amount of time if we could import a spreadsheet containing a column with all of the new symbols each chart needs to be linked to. Thanks for any help you can provide on this! |

Yes. Use the Associated Watch List for this: Changing the Symbol of a Chart: Using the Associated Watch List It also supports importing a list of symbols. Yes, but it works a bit different. For Sierra Chart Spreadsheet, you would right-click and select Copy Formula, then you can paste this into the other sheet/cell. Also there are copy and paste commands on the Spreadsheet menu: Spreadsheet Menu Additional information: Working with Spreadsheets: Filling Cells with Value or Formula Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Is there an issue in terms of adding multiple trade windows i.e. over 700. I seem to be encountering an error. SC freezes up on me.

There is no way the Windows operating system can handle this. This is an insane amount at least according to Microsoft. You are going to need multiple computers. There is no other way around this. If we have multiple charts open (1000) is it possible to "Open Trade Window for Chart" on all open charts? Currently, we have only been able to "Open Trade Window for Chart" by selecting each chart and then selecting "Open Trade Window for Chart". We are able do this manually and not run into any problems with 1000 charts, but it requires clicking each chart and selecting "Open Trade Window for Chart" 1000 times. Is there a global setting that can be clicked which will "Open Trade Window for Chart" on all charts that are open? We have tried importing the symbols and then "Set Charts to Symbols" while having the "Open Trade Window for Chart" in detached mode and it will open the Trade Window for all charts it opens, but then hits an error message DDE [M] 1 Min #51 | Error creating the Trade Window. | 2018-02-19 00:06:00 *.
Our computer has 32 gigs of ram and we are using only about 10 gigs of capacity so it's not a hardware limitation. |

You really need to ask Microsoft about this. We cannot handle Windows limitations. Clearly you are running into problems with Windows. There is not a practical way we can help with this. Other than to tell you to use multiple computers or multiple virtual machines on the computer. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
