version 1641

In Volume at price threshold alert v2, Volume Threshold was set to non-zero value, however, it does not take effect in Number Bars. Extension Lines were drawn on price levels where Bid, ASk volume did not meet threshold.

I have attached screenshot to illustrate the problem.

Please let me if this is bug or setting problem at my side.

Do you know that you are using Ask Volume Bid Volume Diagonal Ratio which uses the Percentage Threshold Input.

The Volume Threshold input is not used.

I was following the documentation which states:

Volume Threshold: This Input sets the value of the volume data selected in Comparison Method that has to be met or exceeded at any price level within the current bar to generate an alert and visual indication. If this is set to 0, then the comparison is an equals comparison only.

My understanding was: Bid/Ask volume has to meet the threshold, then proceed with selected comparison method. Similar to Number Bar's Bid/Ask Minimum Volume Compare Threshold (In:95)?

So my understanding is wrong, this volume threshold only works for comparison method other than Ask Volume Bid Volume Ratio and Diagonal Ratio.?

Yes this is the case.

We could always add support for this though, or you could modify the study yourself. Refer to this page for instructions:

That will be great. Would appreciate if volume threshold setting works with Ask Volume Bid Volume Ratio/Diagonal Ratio. This will in sync with Number Bar's Bid/Ask Minimum Volume Compare Threshold (In:95).

Thanks.

Good afternoon,

I've seen a couple of similar topic, but, to my understanding, still isn't fixed, or maybe I'm doing it wrong.
Diagonal footprint/Volume imbalance & diagonal Delta
Number bars volume percentage minimum

1) I want to compare the bid volume with the ask volume traded, therefore I am using in Number Bar: Background Coloring Based on Diagonal Dominant AskVol BidVol to Volume at Price Percentage, since I would like to see when the bid volume is greater than 125% of the ask volume (or vice-versa)
2) But I don't want it to be colored unless the volume at the bid or the ask is more than 500 contracts.

Would it be possible to add this? Or do you have another suggestion for me?

Thank you,

What you are looking for is accomplished using the Bid/Ask Volume Compare Threshold Input for the Numbers Bars themselves. Refer to the following:

Hi John,
I do have a value put in at "Bid/Ask Minimum Volume Compare Thresholds".

The problem I have I believe is the same as the person who created this post, which means that I have also a value in the "percent Compare Thresolds".

I would like it to be a "AND" condition (percentage + minimal value).

Once again, I might be doing it wrong, let me know if you need more information.

Thank you for your time,

What you are asking about is different from the original post. But, if we understand what you are wanting to do, then it is just a matter of changing the colors for the Column 1 Range 0-2 Up/Down colors.

First, however, it is not possible to have a 125% threshold when using the Background Coloring Based on Diagonal Dominant AskVol BidVol to Volume at Price Percentage. In this case, the maximum is going to be 100%, since the comparison is between the Bid or Ask Volume to the total Diagonal Volume. Refer to the following for this setting is calculated:
Numbers Bars: Background Coloring Based on Diagonal Dominant AskVol BidVol to Volume at Price Percentage

Given all of this, here is an example of settings to use if you only want to display coloring when the Bid and Ask volume are greater than 500 and the dominant side is more than 90% of the total volume:
- Background Coloring Method: Background Coloring Based on Diagonal Dominant AskVol BidVol to Volume at Price Percentage
- Column 1 Background Type: Full Background
- Bid/Ask Volume Compare Threshold: 500
- Column 1 Percent Compare Thresholds: .25, .50, .90 (The first two numbers do not matter)
- Column 1 Range 3 Up Color: Color of Choice (Green)
- Column 1 Range 2, 1, 0 Up Color: Black
- Column 1 Range 0, 1, 2, Down Color: Black
- Column 1 Range 3 Down Color: Color of Choice (Red)

Would +1 the request in post #8 above. I'd love if the Ask/Bid ratio (and diagonal ratio) allowed a minimum volume threshold to be set along with the percentage ratio in the Volume at price threshold alert v2 study

Ex: X:X ratio, and minimum X contracts
