I'm trying to use Sierra to analyze stock market data for some companies I'm interested in. I'm not having any trouble importing daily closing and volume information, but have been frustrated by my attempts to post data containing hourly data. So long as I'm creating an historical chart, I can import what I like, but the minute I switch to an interday chart to accept hourly data, Sierra tries to find a live feed for the "symbol" I'm importing and makes the chart unusable. If I import hourly data into an historical chart, I can't view hourly data unless I switch the chart to interday, and when I do that Sierra tries to find the data feed and won't let me view the chart. Is there a setting in Sierra Charts that forces manual connection to a data feed? Is there a way to import interday data without automatically activating Sierra's data feed? |

To prevent Sierra Chart from connecting to the data feed, refer to: Text/CSV Data Format: Using Your Own Data and Not Connecting to External Data Service However, it sounds as though there is a problem with the Minute data you you have imported if Sierra Chart is trying to connect to data feed. If there is valid data to be loaded from the chart data file and displayed, Sierra Chart is not going to connect to the data feed.
