Hello Sierra! I'm new to sierrachart and have been trying to recreate something I've seen being done in InvestorRT. Namely get a Volume Profile like distribution of a custom input. I'm trying to get the distribution of the harmonic rotation size of a given futures contract. I've applied a ZigZag to the chart and added a spreadsheet study plot the "Length of ZigZag" on chart region 2. Now I'd like to see the distribution of the rotations i.e. which is the most common (POC), what is within 1st and 2nd standard deviation (VA) etc. Is it somehow possible to apply the Volume By Price study to these plotted datapoints in chart region 2? If not is there any other way to achieve the same result? Thanks a lot & have a great day! |

The closest that Sierra Chart has available is this particular Draw Style: Chart Studies: Horizontal Profile (ACSIL: DRAWSTYLE_HORIZONTAL_PROFILE) But this is probably not really what you are looking for. Here is the documentation for Draw Styles: Chart Studies: Subgraphs Tab >> Draw Style Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I've applied a ZigZag to the chart and added a spreadsheet study plot the "Length of ZigZag" on chart region 2. There is actually a much more efficient way to do this. In the next release there will be a Study Subgraph Reference study to reference another study and put it in its own Chart Region. Also refer to post #2 above. Namely get a Volume Profile like distribution of a custom input. Hi, Were you able to achieve this in the end. I recently watched a webinar where the presenter did this and I am trying to do the same thing using Sierra Charts. Please advise if the above advice was useful. Thanks |

Use the Horizontal Profile Draw Style: Chart Studies: Horizontal Profile (ACSIL: DRAWSTYLE_HORIZONTAL_PROFILE) This is the closest we have available. Definitely not as clean as applying a distribution where we can easily see the +/- 1 Standard Deviations. Would love to have this supported. I thought potentially applying a Volume By price chart with the study as an input might work but no luck |
