Renko bar issues. Number bars missing values. Rolled back to 1621 again. No reply required unless you need description of Renko issue.

This post tells us nothing.

There are no problems with Numbers Bars and it is not clear what you mean by missing values anyway.

And we do not want to hear about any Renko issues now. There are a couple of small details we are working on. So just wait and if you see any further believed problems in the next release, then just stay on a prior version because we do not plan any further changes because everything should be correct at that time.

You should also read the current documentation for Renko bars:

To clarify about Renko bars, there are some additional details we are working on, and we have more than enough information, and after the next release, all remaining final details will be worked out.

I have to say the hostility of the reply shocked me, especially given the briefness of my post and the request not to reply unless details were needed. As I have said before I think this software is fantastic so obviously I was only trying to help out...won't make that mistake again.

Knowing I had to roll back anyway, due to Renko issues, I didn't take time to investigate the corrupted numbers bar chart. I admit I am getting somewhat senile as I grow older but I can assure you that this time I did not "imagine" anything. To bring closure, I will offer some context. The number bars were plotted over the Market Depth Historical Graph Study so perhaps what appeared to be missing values may just have been color/display related issues. You are no doubt aware that, with the exception of lines, drawn objects (and, I believe, also profiles) cannot be displayed with this study. This is a trivial matter and I assume there is a good reason for it. In that vain, since my other number bar charts were not affected I will just remove the Depth Study if it becomes necessary.

While I am at it may I be so bold as to make a request. I noticed that user contributed studies now require version 1627 or higher. I only use one which I find very useful. It is the Anchored VWAP. Perhaps you will consider adding it to the Sierra list of studies.

It seems the Renko bar changes have driven engineering to frustration but as someone that has had to use a work around for the issues you are correcting I'm sure it will be well worth it. Meanwhile keep up the excellent work.

It is not completely clear what you are referring to here. You can certainly use Drawing Tools and Volume Profiles on the chart no matter what studies are on the chart. You might have to change the display order though:

Chart Studies: Study Display Order

Specifically what does this study do differently than the Sierra Chart Volume Weighted Average Price study?

This is now all resolved in version 1637 with the addition of a new setting to control two different aspects of these types of bars.

1)Correct, thank you.

2)adds a choice on the right click menu to specify the starting point of a VWAP at the bar where the mouse is positioned(end point is last bar in chart). In other platforms I have also seen the ability to left click the starting point and drag it to a different bar.

3)will update to 1637 this weekend when I have time to carefully read the new instructions.

2. There is not an interactive way to set this but the Volume Weighted Average Price study in Sierra Chart does have a Start Date-Time Input to control where it begins.

3. OK.

2. I realize that. So do most other VWAP implementations on other platforms. The reason the "anchor" version exists is for convenience. This ease of use is required, especially for intraday trading, so that the existence of a campaign (or planned price move) can be determined, by trial and error. The need for this functionality is evidenced by the custom study already written for Sierra and the existence of similar functionality (either native or custom) on other platforms. Bringing it into the fold ensures that the code is efficient and remains compatible.
