Hi! Is there a way to: 1) Shade the sessions? I'd like to shade the pit session of CL but not the overnight session. (Figured this one out, Time Range Highlight) 2) Apply studies only to certain sessions? For instance, I'd like to plot the overnight High/Low and Volume POC automatically. I would also like to plot the value area of only the pit sessions. 3) Automatically plot naked gaps between pit sessions 4) Import levels price from a file (maybe even a URL)? Another :) On the NumberBars study, Is there a way to highlight "sequential decline", for instance, a declining number of buyers (by ratio) at the top 3 levels, or sellers at bottom 3... is it also able to highlight buyer/seller imbalance? display the bar delta above/below the bar? thanks again from a new user! |

Any way to extend a line until a bar closes below it?

1. Use the Time Range Highlight study: Time Range Highlight 2. This can be accomplished with the following studies: High/Low for Time Period Volume By Price Study Be sure to read through the documentation for both of them to understand their capabilities and how to do this. 3. We really do not understand what are asking for, but have a look at this study: Extend Bar Gap Until Future Intersection 4. Refer to: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ACSILProgrammingConcepts.html#TradingLevelsSample 5. On the NumberBars study, Is there a way to highlight "sequential decline", for instance, a declining number of buyers (by ratio) at the top 3 levels, or sellers at bottom 3...
No. is it also able to highlight buyer/seller imbalance?
Refer to the Background Coloring Methods: Numbers Bars: Numbers Bars Background Coloring Methods 6. display the bar delta above/below the bar? Yes, there is a study for this. And we are adding it.7. Any way to extend a line until a bar closes below it? This sounds like it is going to require custom programming. It is not something we can help with.

Thanks for the answers. I noticed I can get 100 levels of market depth now but Nymex provides more. Also, I'd like to color the text of the imbalance, not the whole background. I want the background for the candle as a normal candle, not colored by volume (only the text colored by imbalance). Similar to: https://www.gomicators.com/gomorderflowpro/ |

The most levels of market depth you can see in Sierra Chart is 50. When using Numbers Bars, you can color the text according to various rules. Any plans on adding more than 50? Does the DTC server send the full book or only 50?

Eventually, but we cannot say when this will happen. The DTC server will only send up to 50 levels. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Is it possible to draw gradient candles with a study?

I'm constantly having a difference in footprint / delta numbers between CQG on NT and CQG on Sierra charts. Even if I download historical data. Is this normal? Thanks again for answering questions. |

I'd like to know if it was possible to build a study or some way to make the candles have a gradient fill (or even the chart background). Is that possible to program? |

It's already set to Tick by Tick. My CQG is set to 1 tick.

OK understood. I'm constantly having a difference in footprint / delta numbers between CQG on NT and CQG on Sierra charts. Even if I download historical data. Is this normal? Are the chart bars based upon a fixed amount of time or are they variable timeframe per bar? An example of fixed time bars would be like 5 minutes per bar.

Fixed 5min bars on both platforms. Sometimes every bar is off a few contracts or it may be every other bar. It happens pretty regularly. Sometimes more, sometimes less contracts difference. Both using CQG.

To confirm, I also checked with another user on Sierra. They have Rithmic and their numbers match my NT numbers but do not match my Sierra numbers.

Use the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service following the instructions here: Sierra Chart Historical Data Service That is going to give you the proper data definitively. Won't that only fix it for historical data? The problem is happening realtime too.

We want to see how it compares to what you are comparing to, using the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service. We are having you follow through standard procedures order to gain an understanding of the problem. In the end, we cannot help with CQG data. It is what it is, assuming that is where the issue is. Here is an example. Look at 11:50 http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1509654601879.png compared to the attached. Switching to SC Historical, fixed the bars to match NT, however that doesn't make any sense as to why the realtime would be off. Every platform i'm connecting to CQG gets the same data and matches, except for Sierra. Would it be any better to switch to CQG FIX or any other ideas as to the Sierra/CQG is inconsistent but works fine on other platforms? Is there a difference between CQG WebAPI and CQG Continuum API? NT is using CQG Continuum. |

Market data always comes from the CQG Web API. Is there a difference between CQG WebAPI and CQG Continuum API? NT is using CQG Continuum. It is impossible for us to know. Only CQG can answer this question. We do see some minor discrepancies in those chart images for that one particular bar. This can be expected because the CQG server can drop data. Refer to: CQG Trading Platform Service: Solving CQG Market Data Feed Problems Is it not ridiculous that we cannot provide our own data feed to our own users? This is because of the ridiculous and absurd exchange policies. If we seem to lose patience over this, there is a reason. We simply cannot provide further help. At some point, we have to do something else. Putting up with this garbage is not even worth our time any longer. This is why we are looking to create a new exchange. And yes that is a serious proposal. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point. Actually we want to clarify something, we can provide our own data feed to you, if you are willing to pay for it. It is 25 USD per month plus exchange fees: We just assumed you did not want to pay for it. This is all. Here is the documentation for it: Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed The basic problem is, is that we cannot provide this data feed as cheaply as a broker or technology provider because there are some very significant expenses involved with providing it due to exchange policies.
