Hello, I've been using Sierra for over a year and today for the first time charts aren't updating correctly, there's movement but extremely slow and a lot of missed data, when I do Delete and Download Data all of a sudden the chart looks completely different from before.

I updated SC to the latest version and re-started it, also reboot my modem. My broker platform seems fine with no such delays or issues.

We see you are using CQG. Refer to:
CQG Trading Platform Service: Solving CQG Market Data Feed Problems

There is nothing we can do about this from our side. But you can use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed for reliable data.

For this step: Set Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Other Settings >> Allow Server to Drop Data to True.

There's no Other Settings that I can see. There's Allow Server to Drop Data in the main window under Service Settings but I can't change the value from False to True.

What does this do anyway?

I don't think any of the other proposed steps are relevant to me since I've been using this symbol and data source daily including earlier today without any issue.

We will update the documentation. It is in the list of Service Settings on the left.

You can change the setting underneath the list of settings. You will see a checkbox.

We would think the name of the option would be self-explanatory, but as far as the specifically what the option will do, only CQG can answer that question.

:-)

It might be beneficial for SierraChart to understand how a feature it built into the software actually works, what it does and how it affects the data being stored and displayed in the software.

This is not a feature built into Sierra Chart at all. It is simply a setting given to CQG. Based on its description, it allows the server to drop data if your connection and system is not able to receive it fast enough.

how it affects the data being stored and displayed in the software.
It has no effect upon this whatsoever.

There is nothing we can do to help with CQG problems. Other than to recommend to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed.
