Deleting files from Data folder

I have many old quarterly futures charts in my Sierra Data file. I want to delete them before I back-up the data file and gain a lot of hardrive space. Can I just open the data file, right click on the old files and hit delete or do I need to do more to eliminate them from my computer. Thanks for your help. |
