Does the POC move on a time period or does it move on a price movement period? Like if price is trending down will the POC move if there's a certain percentage of move or a certain price move? I'm trying to figure out how to anticipate the next POC move. thx.

You really need to understand how the calculation is done. Refer to: Time Price Opportunity (TPO) Profile Charts: How Point of Control and Value Area Are Calculated We really do not know how in your mind you could be able to anticipate the next POC change. Even from a programming perspective, there is a lot of complexity in this. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Actually, although we mentioned POC in our response, which is simply making reference to what you said, we were thinking in our mind of the Value Area since that is what the subject was. There is a tremendous amount of complexity in that study. However, the final POC result, is simply the price level where there is the greatest volume. So as soon as you see a volume bar about to become the greatest volume bar, then that is a way to anticipate it.

Actually, now it is clear why we answered the way we did. When using the Volume Value Area Lines, you cannot actually see any volume profiles. So yes it is actually very difficult to anticipate any changes in the POC especially with the tremendous complexity of that study. We apologize for this, when we were going through this again, we were then thinking of looking at the POC on a displayed Volume Profile. Our initial response was actually accurate as the question was presented. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. It's not a problem. But if you're being a dick to me I will call you on it. I'm not mad. Just honest. I value our relationship lol.
