delete data files

I have many old data files, mostly ES YM NQ quarterly files dated 2009 - 10-11. I don't need them so I would like to delete them. Can I just open the data file folder,right click on file and delete ? My data file folder has over 3GB of files so I should free up a lot of space. Thank You
