Hello, I have a plea to redraw the trend line from another chart in another chart. In the 5M chart I will draw a trend line, where I beautifully sit on the bottom wrinkles of the candles, but in the renko chart, where I can see the drawings from the 5M chart it absolutely does not fit. Where is the error? |

One thing we are certain of is there is no chance whatsoever there is a bug here. In general, these types of issues are explained here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails34.html We are just not sure which one of those items would apply in this case because it is hard for us to perceive everything because we do not know exactly the type of line you have drawn and where it is anchored to on the source chart. We contemplated this some more, and the result that you see is correct. Since Renko bars are variable timeframe bars, the price level where a sloping line is going to intersect at a particular point in time, is going to be different than the source chart. So what you thought of as a bug is nothing more than basic geometry. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Hello, in the appendix I'm sending a chartbook where the trendline is "yellow" on the 5M chart. In the Renko 8t chart, the total drawing differs. How is this possible ??? Take a look at the situation yesterday 12.9.2017 at 10:00. |

The documentation says: When Ray drawings and other types of extending drawings, extend to the right, the price level the Ray is at on the right side of the chart can change as new data is added or when the timeframe per bar changes. Therefore, the Ray will not always intersect the same chart values on the right side. The reason for this is the Ray endpoint value can ascend or descend because the line is sloping and as it extends, the value that it intersects changes.
The above also applies to when a Chart Drawing which is copied to another chart since in most cases the other chart will have a different timeframe per bar and therefore a different number of bars. This is especially true with variable timeframe bars because with a sloping line, the level where it will intersect at a particular point in time, is going to be different compared to fixed time bars. This is all basic geometry. There is no further information we can provide. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
