v1607 has a problem with charts drawn to offscreen surfaces. If you load several Chartbooks on startup using "General Settings" -> "File To Load on Startup" ->Add several chartbooks. The charts that startup off screen will not have any width, the vertical scale axis draws at the far left of the chart window and there are no chart bars. Pressing CTRL-Insert fixes it. (Chart->Recalculate) I uploaded an image http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=150505131152.png The image chart is a daily historical chart of Crude oil (CLV17) with no studies, it also happens with intraday charts as well. This problem was not evident in v1605. |

When I press Chart->Recalculate, it fixes the chart appearance. http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1505051951164.png |

We will look into this and resolve it. We will try to duplicate it. It relates to the new functionality where chart windows are destroyed when they are no longer visible. Brilliant, that seems to be sorted in v1609. I found that when I rolled back, from v1607 to v1605, that my Message Log said that my ACSIL studies were now for version 1607. So none of them were functioning. I guess the settings for those studies were upgraded to 1607 and couldn't be regressed when I returned to 1605. It's the first time I've tried to go to a previous version so I'm not sure if this happens for all new versions released, or if it's only for releases where it is necessary to lock the versions. Anyway, I thought I should report it to you because this might cause trouble for some of your customers. It seemed to only affect ACSIL studies but I'm not aware of any way that I can code around it. Anyway, Thanks again for the prompt fix, all looks good now. |

We actually did not yet solve the problem. We should get to it today. The functionality to destroy a chart window when it is hidden, has been disabled until we work out these issues completely. This is why do not see the problem on 1609. The issue with custom studies is that when they are compiled for a particular Sierra Chart version, in many cases you cannot use them on an older version. It does not have anything to do with the Study Settings. Those are compatible forward and backward. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
