Hi.

I am trying to get my All Bars Volume profile (far right of the chart in light blue) to follow the % of POC color scheme in settings. It is currently using my default VP colors. I selected "yes" for "Color Code Volume Bars Based on % of POC" and have selected 10 for # of POC ranges of color. I looked back instructions and it says that by selecting "yes" to the Color Code it will override the subgraph colors, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Am I doing something wrong?

There is not enough information for us to say what exactly is occurring. In particular, is the POC for that VbP in the viewable area?

Also, the bars are too compressed together, you would need to expand them out a bit, or use a higher value for the Ticks per Volume Bar Input.

And one final thought is that the Highlight Value Area takes precedence over the POC coloring, so if what you are viewing is part of the Value Area, then that would explain why you are not seeing the POC coloring.

Okay, at the time POC was probably lower and out of sight. Since then, it looks like it shifted higher. Plus, I did have Highlight Value Area on. Now that I removed it the full volume profile follows the % of color scheme. Although, like you said, I need to expand it.

Is there away to make it visible without influencing the data? My understanding is 1 tick per volume bar gives accurate data, while higher tick per data might skew data.

We would not say that it "skews" the data, as all the data is still there. It is just consolidated together such that multiple ticks in the price are put together so you can more easily see what is occurring. But it is a personal choice on what to do.

Okay. I apologize for my misunderstanding. I hate to bother you again, but I know a person that is also using 1 tick and his all-bars volume profile doesn't blend into black. The different shades appear clearly no matter the scale (expanding the chart).

I thought it might be my volume bar outlines because despite being light grey, they appear black on my screen so I would assume zooming out would condense the volume profile so much that the black outlines take over, but my settings are set to "no" for Draw Profile Outline for Enclosing Bars, which I understand refers to the outline of each volume bar. Is there like subgraph color code or appearance I am missing? He said it might be an outline issue.

Attached screens shots of my settings.

On the Subgraphs tab for the Volume by Price study select the subgraph named Volume Bar Outline and Fill Color. Check the Width for that particular subgraph and be sure it is set to 1. That will eliminate the black outline around the bars.

The Input for Draw Profile Outline for Enclosing Bars is not that outline, it is an outline around all the bars - giving you a view of the range of the profile.

John, you are the man!

I had it at ignore and even if it wasn't at ignore, it was at 0. Didn't think that width 1 would make it work.

Thanks!
