I have been trying to remove 2 sets of custom studies by using safe mode and a dll backup file as per your instructions for isolating issues caused by custom studies. I have remove the studies from my live charts that I am currently using and they are operating fine. However, the studies keep returning to my data files in Sierra Chart, they won't go away. During my efforts I did notice a 'Force update' in the log files for the studies was trying to delete. These study files are from one of your recommended developers (I'd rather not say who on this venue) and to obtain the studies I gave him my user name so they would be available in the custom studies folder. How can I stop these studies from reappearing in my data files? I would like to make them disappear for good. thanks |

We thought there were some changes to ACSIL which was causing this but we checked again and we could not find any. However, the developer probably should recompile their studies for the current version of Sierra Chart in case there is some small lower-level inadvertent change we made which is causing the issue. We also set your account to not automatically download any files. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Thank you, I did remove the study, a news timetable, from the charts that I use daily. However, there are chartbooks that probably have the study still active, but used rarely. Will my Sierra Charts freeze and lag if I do open one of these charts? Also, will I be able to delete the dll files from my Data files not to have them return? Will my account (charting) be affected in any other way by not automatically downloading files? Such as chart info or other third party software that I may want to use later. |

You should not have a problem as long as you run Sierra Chart in Safe Mode. Also, will I be able to delete the dll files from my Data files not to have them return? Will my account (charting) be affected in any other way by not automatically downloading files? No. Such as other third party software that I may want to use later. Yes.

You can disable the downloading of the custom study files here: https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=EnabledCustomStudies Once this is done, go into the Sierra Chart Data folder and delete those DLLs you do not want any longer. You can determine the location of this folder here: General Settings Window: Data Files Folder (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Paths >> Files and Folder Paths) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Hi, I understand that disabling the download of custom studies will stop them from downloading. But it will stop from downloading all custom studies. I would be nice to allow the user to select which studies, from which providers that they want to enable and disable. Unless, I am misunderstanding something? By signing up with a provider and providing your account name, you somewhat give control to a third party. I am not insinuating any derogatory remarks toward third party providers. Just saying that the user should have control over their own account. Thank you, |

Hello I have the same problem. I no longer want to use 3 dll files. Is there a way to select which files are no longer loaded? I can't completely deactivate it either because indicators are programmed for me that are uploaded directly by the programmer. In the picture you can see 3 dlls marked in red. I don't want these anymore. Can you do that? Thank you very much. |

We see two of the DLLs you are referring to are setup to be downloaded from our distribution system. You need to contact the developers of these studies and have them remove you from their list so they are no longer sending you the files. The particular DLLs are the following: - Backtester_Lite_v01_64.dll - sst_twap_64.dll The file named "SC_ZLS_64.dll" is not showing as a file downloaded from our service. Therefore, you should be able to delete this off your system and be rid of it. You can view the files being downloaded from our service at the following link: https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=EnabledCustomStudies You can also stop all downloads by selecting the appropriate button on the above page. But this stops all downloads, there is not a way to stop individual ones, except to be removed as noted above. If you have a problem getting removed from a study collection, then let us know. Yes, thank you, but the problem is that I don't know where I got these studies. It was too long ago. There must be a way to block them from being loaded into the platform. There have been requests like this several times. I thought that Sierra Chart had set this up over the years. It must be easy for the user. Why isn't there a list where I can choose which dll is loaded and which is blocked? I don´t have many files. But for users who have many more, it's complicated. Will it work if I change my account name? |

the SST one is mine. If you bought it it’s yours. If you had a trial you can delete the file. Don’t really understand this requirement as the file doesn’t do anything if you don’t use it. Seems some paranoia going on here. Email me if you need any help.

We have removed you from the group associated with the file for "Backtester_Lite_v01_64.dll". Please discuss directly with @sstfrederik about how you want to handle his files. And as we noted, the other one we do not see any downloads for, so you should be able to just remove it from your local system.
