Hello SC,

i learned about the possibility to pull up a forward curve in SC just recently and found the documentation about it: Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Forward Curve Charts

i tried to pull up a VIX forward curve but failed to do so. What do i do wrong and what do i need to change to pull it up? see my settings in the attached screenshot.

fwiw, i tried it with the auto rollover futures setting as well.. still no luck.

thanks,
Andreas

Select "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings". What is the "Service" at the top left set to?

it kind of works with interactivebrokers, but not with those fancy expiration month names on the x axis....

Does Rithmic support the CBOE Futures exchange? If so, what is their symbol for the CBOE Volatility Index futures?

You also need to enable Chart >> Show Rollover Dates.

looks like rithmic doesnt have it... so, should SC provide it with its feed? i mean, i can chart a "time chart"... or am i missunderstand the concept?

rollover dates did the trick, thx for pointing that out.

If it is not supported by Rithmic, then we will not list it in File >> Find Symbol.

Unless the symbol is listed, none of the continuous futures contract functionality will work.

hmm.. why is that necessary? is there a technical reason behind? i mean, obviously i am subscribed to the feed via you guys... so, why is it important to have access from the brokerage side?

I also can't get this working. Driving me mad. I'm using F.US.VXF21 for example and I just get 1 red line going upwards.
Tried the above mentioned things (chart>show rollover. Set 1 day time. Historical chart. Rollover settings to forward curve.)

Any more tips?

Do not change the Rollover Settings to Forward Curve, that will be taken care of automatically. Just add the Forward Curve study and set it up as you need per the information here:
