The bid and ask prices themselves cannot be highlighted but you can add, if you do not really have them the Bid and Ask Size columns to the Trade DOM. Here is the documentation for that:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_ChartTrading.html#CustomizeChartDOMColumns

This will let you see where the best bid and ask are.

I don't understand this answer....your telling me that the bid and ask CANNOT be highlighted in the price ladder?...how can this be?...how do you expect to read the tape?...when you highlight the last price it doesn't tell you whether it was at the bid or ask...if the last price was on the ask that's buying pressure...last on the bid selling pressure...I can see what the best bid and ask are because of the depth....I don't need a separate column for it

what I am failing to understand is why is it that I can customize this DOM with nearly every useless option imaginable...such as font size, colors, and grid line width's...you even have optional lines to connect the bracket orders...but I cant get the most vital information that exists...
whether or not price is going off at offer or bid?...really....
before you change anything else...please change this....

Your comments are making no sense.

You can clearly see where the bid and ask are because of the market depth volumes beside the prices. So why are you saying you do not need a column for it when you apparently already have have it displayed? We suggested to add the column just in case you did not already have it. We were not sure.

And if you are talking about analyzing the list of trades, then use the Chart >> Open Time and Sales Window.

Please do not say the other options are useless. Obviously our users do find them useful. This is not appreciated.

There is nothing to change here. All of the functionality you need is already available.

Thank you for the reference GANZ

IMO an improved ladder would include an option to bold/increase the font size of the bid ask...have the last price highlight option remain...you also could option the font color of the bid ask....

so for example prices that are firing off at the offer would have a green bold font and the price box would be highlighted yellow....
...prices that are firing off the bid would have a red bolded font and also have the same yellow highlighted price box....being able to see green/red behind yellow would provide a clear indication of immediate market sentiment and a central focul point in the DOM...

the bid-ask columns provides price location...knowing whether price traded at the bid or the ask provides intent...by highlighting the bid-ask it allows you to see immediate intent of buyers and sellers....

many traders are not tape readers...have a different time frame...or different process...that's what makes a market...for 10+ years part of how I read price action in THE DOM is based on what I described...

I am certain many users find the many customization options that you offer highly usable...As an NT subscriber for the past 8+ years I also like having many of these options available...especially the % of bids/offers in the DOM...as this is not available in the NT DOM.
but nuts and bolts must always come first....

run a poll?

I think this is an important request. There should be an option to have Bid/Ask be very clearly visible and highlighted in the color of choice. It is not easy to QUICKLY visualize the bid/ask. Please consider this request.

I was thinking about this, and what would be ideal(for me).....
If you could highlight the entire bid/ask row across all columns on the DOM. This would be awesome! Thanks SC.

In ver 1028, there will be a number of new options within Global Settings >> Graphic Settings:

* On Other tab, option "Bold DOM Last Price" - when set, the last price will be bolded in the ChartDOM and TradeDOM

* "ChartDOM Best Bid/Ask Box Background" and "TradeDOM Best Bid/Ask Box Background" - these allow a box to be highlighted between the best bid and best ask prices within the price column. Note, in addition to setting the color, these options need to be enabled (using enable check box).

* "ChartDOM LastPrice At Bid Text", "ChartDOM LastPrice At Ask Text", "TradeDOM LastPrice At Bid Text", and "TradeDOM LastPrice At Ask Text" - these allow the text color of the LastPrice to be set based on if it traded at the bid or ask. If the bid/ask can not be determined, then the normal price color is used. Note, in addition to setting the color, these options need to be enabled (using enable check box).
