I already have the Sierra Chart package 5. And I guess it does not come with real time data. I was wondering what the best option would be for me to purchase real time data. I am only interested in trading Oil. Also, with the purchase of the real time data, would I be able to demo trade?

We think the best thing to do is to use the Alternative to Futures Data. Refer to:
Is Historical and Real-time Futures Data Included?: Alternative to Futures Data

Your Sierra Chart Service Package already includes this.

The symbols are in File >> Find Symbol >> CFD.

OK. I'm trying to set it up so I can activate the real time data on my platform. The instructions can get very confusing. What is the fastest way to activate it?

There is nothing to activate if you just use the CFD data.

Refer to:
Sierra Chart Real Time and Historical Forex and CFD Data Service

Real-time futures data is too expensive and we do not recommend it.

Is there a number I can call to speak with you guys? That link is saying that real time data is available. I want to demo trade oil in real time so what would be the best way to do this?

Also, I am getting an error when I go to SC Data-All Services. It is saying it is connected, but then it says download failed. Is this not included with the package 5?

The answer to this question is yes. Refer to:
Trade Simulation

Yes, real-time Forex and CFD data is included.

Select File>> Find Symbol >> CFD.

Choose USOil from the list and press Open Intraday Chart.

Also, I am getting an error when I go to SC Data-All Services. It is saying it is connected, but then it says download failed. Is this not included with the package 5?

We see what the problem is. GCLQ7 is an OEC/Gain Capital symbol.

You need to use the symbols listed in File >> Find Symbol for SC Data - All Services. It will be CLQ17.

OK that worked. Is there a reason for the different symbol?

Yes. Each Data and Trading service uses different symbols.

Gain Capital simply uses different symbols.

It is looking like this will not be available to watch in real time?

No. For real-time crude oil data, use the CFD symbol we explain in post #7 above.

If you do not have a funded futures trading account, the NYMEX futures cost will be about 125 USD a month.
