the current value is 1861.25 In the charts settings please verify that you are on a 1 min chart with the TPO study applied. also please verify that you have the correct session times applied for RTH. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-03-12 18:43:18

I am looking for the price level where the number of TPOs above is equal to the number of TPOs below, it is also the median of the distribution - not the halfback. It is not a complex calculation. Thanks.

dougrkyle, I agree the value Sierra is posting is 1861.25. That is the (high+low)/2 value. It is not the tpo midpoint. Thanks for verifying I am at least using the correct version. This is not the correct calculation though.

Yes I believe we are talking about two different things. The handbook also talks about tpo counts and I do not use this in my MP analysis.

Seems like we cannot make everyone happy here. Sierra Chart used to do it this way: I am looking for the price level where the number of TPOs above is equal to the number of TPOs below, it is also the median of the distribution - not the halfback. It is not a complex calculation. Thanks.
It was recently changed. We can see the documentation documents the prior calculation method. Not really quite sure what we should do. Restore the old method. Support two different methods? Pages 199, 201, 203 call for a midpoint as being the the split of high and low of the current price action. Could you advise where you are seeing Documentation that suggests another method in the Handbook? Thanks, Doug |

Our own documentation here: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_TPOVolProfileCharts.html#ReadingTPOCharts We decided to add an option to calculate the midpoint the old way based upon the TPO midpoint or (High + Low)/2.
