When SC is a client is it possible to have the global symbol settings updated by the server? I am currently receiving SECURITY_DEFINITION_FOR_SYMBOL_REQUEST and responding to that but nothing appears in the global symbol settings. Also, when I press "Update From Server", I don't get SECURITY_DEFINITION_FOR_SYMBOL_REQUEST event. My question is whether this is supported, supposed to work and if there is any documentation on this? |

Refer to: Data and Trading Communications (DTC) Protocol Test Client: Populating Symbol List in Sierra Chart |

Just to see I understand - the idea is that when we have logon sequence we send in SECURITY_DEFINITION_RESPONSE for all the symbols we want to support. 1. If we set symbol X, then user makes changes to X and we do this again - I'm assuming that user's changes will get overriden 2. Just confirming that Update From Server button is not supported with DTC Can you confirm above understanding? |

                1. Yes this is correct. 2. No it is not supported. You can also supply a GlobalSymbolSettings.XML file that a user can use with all of the symbols for the service. There are also certain symbol settings fields which could be used to utilize the symbol searching/retrieving capability on the Find Symbol window. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2017-06-13 16:39:56
