I have a study that looks at the last x bars of data and then spits out a value between -1 and 1. When I open a chart and apply the study it works fine. When I run a backtest on the same chart and data, the study starts at 1 when it should be at -0.2. Why is it doing this and how do I stop it?

If this is a study you developed, you have to debug this problem yourself. We do not provide programming help.

This was a spreadsheet study. From what I can tell the study does not load data from before the backtest beginning. if that is the case is there a way to prevent trading until enough data is loaded?

We have on our to do list, to add a new Input to the Spreadsheet System for Trading study which prevents the evaluation of an auto trade system until there are a certain number of bars in the chart.

We will be looking this over as soon as we can.

Thank you. This has been needed for some time, especially when using multiple charts because the primary chart will start trading before the secondary charts have loaded their data.
