Break-even button does not take scaling in into account

When using attached orders and scale-in is enabled, the BE (break-even) button will always move the stop to the original parent order avg fill price. This matches the current documentation. This causes unintended consequences when using scale-in functionality to add to a position. The scale-in changes the average fill price, potentially making it worse than the original avg fill price. In this case, when the BE button is pressed, the stop is moved to original parent avg fill price, and can execute immediately instead of moving to the position avg fill price. The BE button should really be looking at the current position avg price, not the original parent order avg fill price. |

We will have to make this an option because there is not always a reliable Position Average Price to use. Whereas the fill price of an order is always set and accurate.

Is there any update on this feature? It makes sense to have the average in with BE factor in. |

it seems that the break even is referencing the first target offset and not the average (scaled in price)

It definitely does and this was verified just a couple of days ago so long as you are using the Scale In functionality: Attached Orders: Scaling In Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Okay we went and read the first post, we thought you were referring to the breakeven functionality on Attached Orders. That does use the average fill price when Scaling In. The Break Even button is different. We would have to check but we do not think there is any averaging involved in that. We will see about adding that if it is not already supported.

Actually we are confirming that the manual Move Stop to Breakeven button does use the average price of multiple order fills when scaling in. But we are going to run a test to verify.

We have verified, that the move to breakeven button, does use the average fill price when scaling in. This can be easily verified during a chart replay. You will notice that the stop order will simply move to the position average price. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I was testing this feature with spreadsheet trading not a manual button. Is There any way this can be implemented with spreadsheet auto trading?

Yes you just need to use the Scale In functionality and we have documented this here: Attached Orders: Move to Breakeven Stop Reference Price Calculation and Usage We also explain how to validate that the average calculation functionality works as expected. Perform that test so you can see that it does work properly. If there is any problem, we would not really be sure why at this point.
