At the moment Volume By Price indicator draws volume bars proportional in size only within the same measuring period. This is especially unhelpful when the indicator is used to display volume in single bars. For example, if we had two bars with the highest volume of 100 and 1,000 contracts (POC) at a single price respectively, these two prices would have volume bars of the same length. Therefore the current setup does not allow to correctly assess the amount of volume at a price because of this. One has to refer to the total volume of a bar to make a rough assessment and even then it can still be misleading. My suggestion is to make the indicator draw horizontal volume bars proportional in size to all other volume bars visible on the chart. This should only be proportinal to the bars visible on the chart and not to all available bars for an instrument because the volume can vary greatly during a trading day and volume in quiet periods will not be visible at all if it is compared to the volume of the US session of the previous day. |

This is already on our longer-term to do list as an option for the Volume by Price and Numbers Bars studies but the implementation is complicated.
