I'm currently evaluating your platform, and I'm a bit surprised to see on one hand how powerful it is, and on the other to struggle with some basic things like searching for a symbol instead of manually browsing and picking it from a rather big tree. My version is 1505 (trial). I'm using the real time SC Data Feed (trial) with Eurex Exchange (also trial). My problem is, that I just cannot search for symbols from the Find Symbol dialog. The button "Search By Description" is disabled (Instance: SC Data - All Services) Is there any way to activate this? Thank you. |

Searching for outright futures contracts is not supported. The search capability is only used for futures spreads and stock symbols. Ok, thank you. Somewhat disappointing since I'm not yet accustomed to your symbols, but I can understand that priorities have been different. Just as a suggestion for your developers, they could just offer a simple client only search, that searches all the tree nodes for a certain text. All non-matching nodes could be hidden, or a separate list with only those matching could be displayed as a popup. Nothing fancy really, it's only about being able to pick the proper symbol. Might feel as a hack, it's not, it makes our lives so much easier. |

Implementing this type of search is actually complicated.

I think it would be greatly appreciated by both your existing customers and especially the potential ones like me.

The best way to search for symbols is to go to this page: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChart_RealTime_And_Historical_Symbols.php&SymbolsPage=Futures And use your browser's search feature.
