I am having trouble using the Spreadsheet System for Trading on a daily chart and using an option as the trade vehicle. SPY chart and SPY option for instance. I cannot find any documentation. When I enter a proxy trade symbol in a daily chart Sierra always seems to change the chart symbol to the Trade and Current Quote Symbol. This doesn't happen on an intraday chart. |

This does not make sense. We cannot reproduce this. Explain the exact steps you are following and what exactly is happening. When we set Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trade and Current Quote Symbol to some symbol for a Historical Daily Chart, that symbol remains even after reopening the Chartbook. Here is the relevant documentation: Chart Settings: Trade and Current Quote Symbol (text box) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I just duplicated it again. I have a Daily chart of SPY. I have a Spreadsheet System for Trading Study along with maybe 5 more studies. As long as Trade and Current Quote Symbol remains blank everything is perfect. I just added the string SPY-OPT-20170120-220-C-SMART-100-USD in the Trade and Current Quote Symbol and the chart began charting the option at approx. $7.50 (using Interactive Brokers) Remove the string and the chart is back to normal. This happens in multiple daily chartbooks. I use the Trade and Current Quote Symbol in my intraday charts and it works perfect. Sierra Chart 1478. |

OK we understand now. You cannot do this with a Historical Daily chart because it is going to affect the price in the chart for the last bar. What you can do is create a Daily bar chart from Intraday data: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SessionTimes.php#CreatingDailyBarsCustomSessionTimes Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I will give this a try. Is there a reason this can't happen in a Daily Chart?

The Trade and Current Quote Symbol as the name indicates also causes the current quote data to be for that particular symbol and will affect the last bar in a Historical Daily chart.
