I'm using the Symbol Display study to print the symbol name in the background of my chart. Some symbols have weird names, and for these I'd like the ability to override what's printed. For instance, the CQG name for the Stoxx50 future is F.US.DSX. I'd rather just print "FESX". I tried using the text tool to achieve the same thing, but it's limited in font size and also it doesn't stick to the background like the Symbol display does. https://i.imgur.com/7mn3zQW.png Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-11-30 14:02:23

We will add a new input setting to specify alternative text to the Symbol Display study.

I love Symbol Display but I don't see it in my Transact version of 1632, but it is in my older TD Ameritrade and IQFeed version of 1575 (See attachment). Can I access it in Transact Feed 1632?

But since Transact on 1575 has Symbol Display (see attached), I don't know what I am doing wrong now. Dare I upgrade the older SC Version from 1575 to 1632?

3 problems that I have found with "Symbol Display" per attachment: 1. Study overlay relative to price and studies 2. Initial Horizontal Position doesn't seem to work in my Windows 7 OS. 3. Display in Fill Space doesn't display in Fill Space for me. If you can tell me what I am doing wrong! Thank you. |

1. This cannot be controlled. It is always underneath the main price graph and studies. But will see if we can add an option for this. 2, 3. Refer to the detailed documentation for the study here about these: Symbol Display Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. It seems that upon reboot of SC, "Display Symbol" adjusts to Fill space when asked for in input box. In the screenshot sent, "Display Symbol" was not adjusting to fill space, though asked to do so. Everything seems to work as you designed, greatest chart platform ever. |

But you need to look at the documentation for that Input to understand how it works.
