Hi SC, I have posted some requests for drawing tools in SC. Your program is good but the market geometry is very limited - no Gann squares, no ellipses (let alone angled ellipses), no ability to draw vectors etc. Since I haven't had a response to my queries, I take it that you have no interest in developing these tools. I have hired developers in the past for indicators. My question is whether a developer will be able to make DRAWING tools (i.e. not indicators) for Sierra? Will these disappear each time I upgrade the program? I am happy to pay for development. Just please let me know if it is feasible to do so and not have my drawing tools wiped each time I upgrade. Sierra Chart does have an Ellipse Drawing tool and a Line drawing tool. We definitely do not recommended an outside developer doing drawing tools. We can do this for an extra cost. We did not mention it because we thought you would not be interested so we did not want to waste our time with discussion. Will these disappear each time I upgrade the program? Not sure why you ask these questions but the answer is definitely no.

OK check with your developer on the cost. If it is going to be more than 200 USD, check with us because one of our developers is doing drawing tool work at this time. If we just have to take existing drawing tools and make changes, it should not be too difficult. What we would charge is only going to be about one third or less of the actual cost. I will have the work done privately. Please consider though that: 1. gann lines cannot have alerts set on a particular line. this makes the tool difficult to use if you trade more than 1-2 markets 2. the ellipse is not an ellipse - it is a circle. an ellipse has a major and minor axis. 3. none of your drawing tools can be drawn at an angle - e.g. the rectangle and "ellipse" cannot be anchored on a diagonal. 4. there is no gann square 5. a vector is not just a line. it is a line pointing at a specific angle with a specific length and can grow and contract with time. e.g. 3 units across in time and 4 units up in price produces a vector of length of length 5. there is not way of having the software calculate the vector length and its expansions/contractions per fib ratios to show growth and decay 6. there is no fibonacci spiral anyway, I will have my developer work on these. thanks for your time. We acknowledge this is a lot for us to handle in the near-term but a developer cannot accomplish all of this using ACSIL or do it properly. This is what we can do: 1. We can work on this when we do some additional work with Chart Drawing alerts. 2. Sierra Chart used to support this and we can restore this functionality. 3. We can add an angled rectangle tool. This should not be too difficult. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point. OK thanks. appreciated. and the Gann square really is just a rectangle tool with lines in it dividing the rectangle into 1/4, 1/3, 1/2 increments. Anything that you can do here would be appreciated. I could get a developer to make this as an 'indicator' where the start and width/height are specified but it is so much nicer to just do it with 2 clicks of the mouse. thanks |

can you please give a rough idea of when the 3 drawing updates will be made? the ellipse is a very powerful trading tool - especially when it can be set at angles. please include a line across the major and minor axes. see some pictures on http://www.cycle-trader.com/program/download.htm thanks |

We can only say that we expect to get to these within approximately 24 months.
