With the "Zig-Zag" Settings, it is possible, of course, to display a variety of text displays/labels(e.g. HH,HL,LL,LH Labels; Reversal Price; Length of Zig-Zag Line; Zig-Zag Volume; Time Duration, etc.) In the case of the Zig-Zag Volume, one can further add the "Zig-Zag Cumulative Volume" study in another Chart Region below the Main Region in a useful histogram display to correspond with the "swings". It would be most useful and informative to also see "Time Duration" below, perhaps in a similar "cumulative" display, or perhaps a simple "block" format. Is this possible? Has anyone else ever requested this or maybe created a custom study that is available in Study archives?

You can certainly modify the study to meet your requirements: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/BuildCustomStudiesDLL.html Otherwise, this is not something we would get involved with. You can do this with the Spreadsheet Study study. Attached is an example chartbook and spreadsheet file that creates an histogram, and a screen capture of what it looks like. In cell H2, the user can select the display units in seconds, minutes or hours. |

Thanks, "tomglib". I recall you helped me out with another topic in the past. I much appreciate your input/advice once again. Embarrassingly, I don't really know how to take your ".cht" and ".scss" and do anymore with them but to copy and paste to my SC "Data Folder" in "C" Drive. I can open it up as a Chartbook and Spreadsheet, but , unfortunately I am quite lame when it comes to softwear type "gymnastics". I typed/copied what you highlighted in blue on the .scss .PNG into Column H [BTW, it says 8 views, but I only see the one chart and spreadsheet image when I click on/open the .PNG. (More embarrassment!)], but, of course, no histogram appeared to populate Region 2 below the chart. I realize there is more to do than that, but I'm admittedly simply ignorant of what to do! Thanks again from a REAL old timer. |

To use the ZZ Time Duration spreadsheet study on an existing chart: -Put the ZZ Time Duration.scss from post#3 in your Sierra Chart \Data folder. -Put the attached study collection file ZZ Time Duration-.StdyCollct in your Sierra Chart \Data folder. -Focus your chart and go to Analysis >> ZZ Time Duration- and choose No when asked if you want to 'Clear Existing Studies On Chart'. -Go to your existing Zigzag study settings and set 'Additional Outputs For Spreadsheets' to Yes. -Note the ID# of your existing Zigzag study. -On the spreadsheet: Edit the formula in cell K3 to reference the ID# of your existing Zigzag study. (If it's not ID1). |

Thanks, tomglib. Not able to see anything displayed yet. Can I infer from your statement: "-On the spreadsheet: Edit the formula in cell K3 to reference the ID# of your existing Zigzag study. (If it's not ID1).", that I should at least see cell K3 filled with "ID:1" on the .scss (if my existing Zigzag study is ID:1) ? It (cell K3) is perfectly blank on the spreadsheet.

On the spreadsheet, go to the upper left corner and use the dropdown to select Sheet1. Then go to cell K3. What is the ID# of your Zigzag study? |

It is already on Sheet 1, and even if I drop down, there are no other choices but Sheet 1. On the chart I'm working with now (which is your "ZZ Time Duration .cht) it is, in fact, ID:1.

The study name and input values, settings, etc. ARE visible in Region 2, but no scale on right and, of course, no bars/histogram.
