CTS Trading - DTC usable yet?

In your article "Setup Instructions for Advanced and Lower-Cost Connection Model" you described a great innovation:

Activate the 10 USD per month CTS order routing connection. Can be activated on the Services Activation page. Not currently listed because the service is still in the process of being deployed.

The emphasized words made me unsure. Can I use this trading service when I activate "1 Additional System - 10 USD/Month"?

We are basically ready to deploy this, but we are looking for one or two additional people to test the trading functionality through the Sierra Chart server connection to the CTS simulation server.

Are you interested in testing that? It will not cost you anything. We will pay for the data feed for the rest of the month.

However, we require someone to do a significant amount of testing. At least committing about 10 hours of testing time or more.

Also, do you have an account with either the Dorman or Wedbush clearing firms?

I plan to open an account with Dorman. So I have to use the conventional CTS Data and Trading Service until your better alternative is available. The Sierra Chart Platform is new for me. Thus I am unfortunately not able to do serious testing.

Full server-side OCO and Bracket Orders managed on a Sierra Chart server with only approximately 1 millisecond latency to CTS server. Together with significantly lower per contract trade cost for retail traders! Combined with the high quality and low latency Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed.

That´s a really great trading environment! Hopefully two experienced traders take SC´s offer above soon.

Yes, I´ll check back in two weeks! In the meantime, I have two questions:

1. What prevented you from using the CQG trading service instead of the CTS trading service? (EDIT: Concerning your new single FIX connection model.)

- The high CTS execution fee of $0,50/side is a big disadvantage. Especially for professional traders, who can not get lower CTS execution fees. Retail traders can ask their broker, if he is willing to lower the fee. CQG charges only $0,05.

- Maybe there is a difference regarding the reliability of the trading service (disconnects, order latency, server-side OCO latency)? What is your experience (particularly in the last months) with this important point?

2. When I use Sierra Chart with the "conventional" CQG- or Rithmic-Trade-Service, then server-side Brackets are not supported. But the trading frontends from CQG and Rithmic support them!

Is this a solely "political" decision from the two firms in order to push their own trading frontends? Do you await changes - maybe in conjunction with DTC developments?

Sierra Chart also supports CQG.

With the new connection model to CTS the per contract fee is USD .10. This section indicates a much lower price per contract:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/CTS_T4.php#SetupInstructionsForAdvancedLowCostConnectionModel

Disconnects and latency is always going to be specific for each individual user. Every case is different.

Server side bracket orders are not supported with CQG and Rithmic for different reasons. On the CQG side they are unreliable and we do not want to put up with problems for ourselves and users. In the case of Rithmic they are simply incompatible. And we have no interest whatsoever in ever supporting them with either of these trading platform services. Our time has to be spent with improving Sierra Chart itself instead of wasting time of all these external service APIs and problems. We have had enough of that.

Also regarding CQG and using a new connection model with a single FIX connection, we did contact CQG about this multiple times but they provided no answer. It was very clear they had no interest in offering this.

And we also contemplated a different connection model to Interactive Brokers, but as of yet we have not discussed that with them. We have always been kind of afraid of what problems could arise because of past history with them.
