I just installed the new version and then tried to open my chart book only to find out that a bunch of charts in my 2 chart books were missing. This has never happened before. Any take on what is going on here? |

When you open the Chartbook are there any error messages displayed in the Window >> Message Log?

Thanks - this helped get back my chart book file. However, there was an instance when the application just stopped working and Windows had to shut it down. Do you know a way to know what must have happened without going through so many message log entries? |

The Message Log usually is not helpful in this case. It could be caused by a custom study. Refer to help topic 17.1: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails17.html#h17.1 Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. So, the application shut down yet again after giving me a Out of Memory error. Yes, I am using a whole lot of intra day charts. But it was all ok only until recently. I tried using another instance of SC application to accommodate some of my chartbooks in the second instance but CQG seems like would let me log into just one instance at a time. I also tried to use 17.1 help topic to decode the dll and that did not help. What do you think I should do here? |

OK so the problem is you are running out of memory. That is something that actually the Message Log would indicate. It is not a very common condition so we did not consider it. In this case what you need to do is use additional instances of Sierra Chart. Here is the relevant documentation: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/WorkingWithCharts.html#OutOfMemoryCondition Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Another instance is cumbersome. Any ETA on when SC will be a 64-bit application, if at all? |

There are currently no active plans for a 64-bit version because if you are working with large amounts of memory it only makes sense to distribute processing load among multiple threads/CPU cores. This can only be done with multiple instances.
