I'm trading a 5 minute bar chart. The signal is ID3.SG3 for Long Entry and ID3.SG4 for Short Entry. How do I create the syntax in spreadsheet trading to say "go long at next bar open after previous bar gives ID3.SG3 signal?". I've attached a screenshot. I want to go long after the red volume bar. I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks! |

I am still unclear how to create a buy signal. I understand inputting yes so the trade initiates after the close of the previous bar. From the attachment my signals are based on volume which are highlighted. What do I put in the spreadsheet trading to say go long after volume bar turns red? IG3.SG3 is a red volume bar. I know how to initiate entries for moving average crosses or if price crosses a level but I don't know how to enter entries based on when volume turns a specific color. Thanks so much

There was a slight mistake in post #2, it was meant to say: You need to set this Spreadsheet System for Trading study Input to Yes:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SystemsAlerts.php#SignalOnlyonBarClose You can only work with actual numeric values. Not colors.
