Hi, My global time setting is New York time but I have some markets that have different timezones (eg Nikkei, Bund). I like to keep all charts showing New York time so I don't get confused. However, this seems to lead to an issue with Volume Weighted Average Price. I find I have to change the date to today's date in this study for every symbol and every chart on which it appears and I need to do this every day before I start trading. For example, the Bund opens at 0150 New York time every day. However, if I don't change the date to today's date I find that the VWAP is not calculated correctly as the base value is wrong. Is there anything I can do to avoid having to update the settings for this study every day ? Is it possible to have an input that replaces "Date" with "Today" by any chance ? That would help enormously. It would also help on the Volume By Price Study where you have a product such as the Nikkei that opens on one date (New York time) but continues past midnight new york time. I find that I have to use the Start Date Time for that VBP and also need to change the start date every day. |

Set the Start Date-Time setting to 00:00:00. We see no reason why you should be using it. Instead Set the Time Period Length and Time Period Type Inputs to 1 Day respectively. For the Volume by Price study, you need to set the Session Times to start in the prior day by reversing the times: Chart Session Times Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thank You. I never knew that about reversing session times for those kinds of market hours |
