Hi,

On my last trade today from simulation account (Sim 2) I placed a trade for three contracts in the ES (trade entered into at 17.30). I then modified the stop loss (via chart trader) at 17.48 (Internal Order 962, I believe.) In my log of trades, there is confirmation that 'Simulated Order Modify Complete'.

I then disconnected my internet connection.

When I switched the connection on again, it appears that this stop loss has not been filled. So, what should have been a profit in the region of circa 36 ticks on this trade, has turned to a loss of 15 ticks.

My query is, why was this stop not filled? I understand that in times of high volume/market volatility stops will not be filled - but this was not the case here as the move down towards (and past) my stop loss was a smooth ride with little volatility.

I have been trading a lot using the sim account and in my experience so far, my stops have almost always been filled.

I am curious - was this stop not filled due to me disconnecting my internet connection?

I am curious as so how Sim trading works, as I assumed that even if I disconnected my internet connection, that the order would remain in Sierra's system.

This is not such a big deal because it is in Sim but I am sure you can understand that I can not risk this happening in live trading.

Please could you provide some clarification on what has happened and whether this has to do with disconnecting my internet?

Thanks

For the order to fill, Sierra Chart has to be connected to the data feed.

The orders are held within your copy of Sierra Chart.
