I activated the $5 trial data offer this morning. I was then presented with the Barchart agreement to sign. Upon doing do, I was informed that I now needed to send the balance of $30 for the month. When I open charting now, I get a message that my services balance is too low to cover services activated. I've restarted charting and logged in and out of my account several times. I don't have a broker - my status is therefore "professional" per CME's definition. It looked like the trial data offer was available to anybody, even a "professional". Maybe not. Is that the problem?

You can disregard that message. It applies to what is owed for next month. You also need to activate the exchanges you want: https://www.sierrachart.com/usercp.php?page=MarketDataFeedFeatures Also, even though you do not have a trading account it does not mean you are a professional. You guys fixed something - no more error messages and it's working. Thanks. As you know, not having a trading account is one of the many ways CME disqualifies a subscriber from taking advantage of their offer of reduced monthly data fee. "Professional" is simply a term of convenience used by CME. I don't think I'm a pro - I'm more of a hack. :) |

The policies of the exchanges are insane. They are anti-competitive. And confusing and burdensome. And hurt everyone including themselves.
