Good morning, Just so you know--regarding price alerts I set manually from a chart--for whatever reason sometimes these alerts are not being triggered as the price goes through the price---but they do get triggered as the price retraces back down. Intraday charts by the way. Thanks, Cy |

We need more information about this. We need to understand what type of an alert this is. Exactly how are you setting it? Is this a Symbol Alert?

The alert was set from the chart by right clicking on the chart and selecting "add symbol alert." I had several set at the same price---also---I went over the time and sales just to see if there was a gap situation---there was not. Thanks again, c |

Post an image of the chart for the same symbol following these instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#Image Tell us the settings you have set on the Add Symbol Alert window for the alert. Actually, we had a quick look at the code now and everything looks like it should be working properly. So we need to do more testing. Post 6 has been revised. What is Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >>Number of Stored Time and Sales Records set to? Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. That setting is high enough. So it is not really clear what the problem is but this will be reviewed. Do you notice any problem when using just Equal To for the Comparison? I have not tried Equal To. Is it possible I have to many charts alerted and this is delaying the price trigger? It tends to happen in the morning when volume is heavier. I have around 150 charts open with each with multiple study alerts. The computer is strong---has a pile of ram and ssd. Right now cpu is at 14% and memory around 30% |

Is it possible I have to many charts alerted and this is delaying the price trigger? It should not matter but you may want to increase the Number of Stored Time and Sales Records setting to see if it is related to that.

Hi, I doubled the number of stored time and sales records to 8000. Then tested the alerts from a chart---basic---"=and(c>=id3.sg2)"---ID3 is the "Daily OHLC" with SG2 being the H---or High of Day. As I understand this should report every trade that meets this criteria to the alert manager. I found a breakout stock from my list and it seems to be only hitting around 10-20% of the trades that meet the criteria are making it to the alert manager. Also, the price format is correct. Also, I am using the Ameritrade feed--in both applications. And the alert is not checked for alert once per bar. Any other thoughts? Thanks, Cy |

Alerts set on a chart or study do not rely on time and sales data and can skip some price data. They are only evaluated when the chart is updated according to the Chart Update Interval: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GeneralSettings.html#ChartUpdateInterval Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
