I started a new trial today and I'm just using the SC data feed.

I was playing around with oil using USOil(M) as the quote and comparing it to my TOS futures account and when I try to enter a trade with a bracket order it seem to put me in the trade 3 ticks away from my wanted entry....either going long or short. I tried from the chart, from the trade window and the Chart DOM.I tried all sorts of things to figure it out and could not.

This business is hard enough, so I don't need to start 3 ticks in the hole each time! :)

Any help?

Thanks

USOil is a CFD symbol. It is not a futures symbol. So what you describe does actually make sense.

Refer to the information here about how orders are filled:

I understand it's not a future symbol like CL, but it was giving tick by tick pricing so I'm not sure why it wouldn't process the orders correctly?

Is there a way to feed the TOS data feed?......even though that is why I'm here testing SC due to the way TOS bundles their tick data, so I'm not sure that would do me any good.

If I need another true data feed, for just CL, what are my options?

Thanks

The orders are being processed correctly but the bid and ask pricing is different than a futures contract.

In your case you need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed:

Since you have a futures trading account, the exchange fee will be only 3.25 USD per month.

Ok, hopefully this is the last question for now. :)

I read through some of that, but one thing wasn't totally clear to me.

If I sign up for that CME data and link it thru TD Ameritrade, will I be getting the data from the CME?.....or will it be coming thru TD Ameritrade and the way they bundle their data?

I don't want to use the data I already get for my TOS charts, so I'm not sure what I would be getting?

Thanks

You will be getting the true CME data from the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. It is unbundled.

It is necessary though to connect to your TD Ameritrade account in order to verify you have a funded futures trading account to meet CME rules. However, the data will not come from TD Ameritrade.
