Unexpected switching from 5-sec True RT bars to usual tick updates

I use IB's 5-sec True RT updates for building bars and trade via ACSIL. All works fine except that occasionally, mostly when a study is recalculated (e.g. with a change in params), SC switches from this mode and starts to update bars every tick. I then have to disconnect and reconnect to rectify, but this also sometimes helps only from the second attempt. This has been happening with all previous versions I tried...Just nearing production and clarifying all potential issues when systems will run unattended. |

This cannot happen: All works fine except that occasionally, mostly when a study is recalculated (e.g. with a change in params), SC switches from this mode and starts to update bars every tick. Also there is no connection whatsoever to study calculations and data feed processing. What can happen, is that a symbol will update using the standard data feed until the true real-time data is initially received. So once the true real-time data is initially received for the symbol, only the true real-time data will update the Intraday data file. All of the above statements have been verified just now. I found a mistake in my code handling "data stopped updating" causing a reconnect to the server every time the study gets re-applied to the chart. Such reconnect leads to "downloading historical data" and occasional switch to "tick updates" (if done several times in a row). Will experiment a bit more and report back. |
