Hello, I am using Sierra Charts data with Interactive Brokers how do I link to the IB gateway api correctly? The TWS is heavy and clunky thats why they invented the IB Gateway api. Seen a old post on that it worked. Thanks |

Hi, Install IB Gateway Standalone software, and in the SC "Data and Trading service settings" choose "IB (Trading) and then under "Server" put localhost:4001 (or 4002), i.e. port number specified in IB Gateway settings. IB recommends 4002 for Paper Trading and 4001 for Live. Nothing difficult, really Best |

Got it connected what I want to do is test SC live data with IB Demo account so can see proper fills etc how do we do this?

You must connect to your Interactive Brokers Live account to be able to receive the CME real-time data. Although after you connect to the Live account, you can then switch to an Interactive Brokers Demo account. But performing trading on an Interactive Brokers demo account using Sierra Chart live data is not going to make any sense. There will be significant pricing mismatches. Have a coded ACSIL and want to test SC live data with IB sim account thats why I need it to test.

OK that should be all right as long as you are using your Interactive Brokers paper trading account but make sure you connect Sierra Chart once to your live account during the month to be able to receive the real-time CME data.
