Hi, I have inserted a Study/Price Overlay onto a 5 min chart where the source study is a spreadsheet system/study with buy and sell formulas for a 1 min chart. The 1 minute chart displays all of the alerts as expected but I expect to see them all using the overlay in the 5 minute chart too but I only see some of them. I have tried every combination of input settings and none of them show all of the 1 minute alerts in the 5 minute chart. Please find the screenshot attached. The 1 minute chart has 14 red hashes visible and only 2 on the 5 minute. There are 7 green visible on the 1 min and only 2 on the 5 min. http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1460328057492.png EDIT - It looks like the 1 minute didn't come over. It was tiled. Here it is standalone. http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1460329505193.png When I replay the chart for all charts in the chartbook, the signals DO show up on the 5 minute but then some vanish from the 5 min yet still are seen on the 1 min. Both of the charts have the same session times from the chart settings. Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to solve this. I've spent all day trying different things for what seems like it should be fairly basic functionality. I've attached the chartbook and spreadsheet in case that helps. Thanks! The Study/Price Overlay study will not do what you want. Obviously there are 5 1-minute bars to every 5-minute bar so they cannot all be overlaid. Have a look at using the Study Overlay-OHLC study: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TechnicalStudiesReference.html#s149 That study is not really designed for this purpose but it might accomplish what you want if it is displayed in another Chart Region other than Chart Region 1. Thanks for trying but using the Study Overlay-OHLC on another chart region as you suggested displayed the same behavior. Is there anything else I can try? It seems like Data Copy Mode input option is missing "Use All Values from Corresponding Time Frame" option. It is a giant surprise to me that this is not supported but that's how it goes sometimes. Is there anything else you can possibly think of trying? I experimented with using multiple bar offsets for the source. I also tried adjusting the start time for 5 different 1 minute charts and adding each of those as destinations with same results. I tried using a spreadsheet formula adding a Sheet2!K3 + Sheet2!K4 + Sheet2!K5 + Sheet2!K6 + Sheet2!K7 reference thinking I could try to graph if that was greater than 0 but I'm not sure if I'm doing that correctly. Does that make sense as an avenue to explore? Thanks, Alex |

I'm wondering if you've had an opportunity to test this yet or not?

We have the Study Overlay - OHLC study now able to overlay the values from a Color Bar Based on Alert Condition study from a different time frame chart. To support this, there is the Use Zero Values from Source Study input which will be in the next release for this study. It needs to be set to No. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point. Thanks again for looking into this issue. I am guessing that since the Use Zero Values from Source Study checkbox is displayed that this is ready to test. I could not get it to work. I am using version 1420. I have a 1 minute chart with 2 Color Bar Based on Alert Conditions for the gap bars up and down formulas and the color bars show up fine there. On my 5 minute chart I added 2 studies of Overlay OHLC of Color Bar Based On Alert Condition with Use Zero Values from Source Study set to NO for both. Each references it's corresponding color bar chart (#1.ID1.SG1 and #1.ID2.SG1). I'll assume it should be working and just go ahead and attach the screenshots and chartbooks. If it is not working in this release then please just let me know. |

We put together an example Chartbook for this. Refer to number 41 here: Additional Files (Study Collections, Spreadsheets, Chartbooks) Version 1420 is fine. Thank you so much! I was able to get it to work exactly like I needed by using your example.
