Hello support, I just found out that when you add a chart drawing with an alert condition to a chart, the alert is not restricted to the current symbol. Therefore if you have some chart drawings with alerts, and on the same chart you then scan through a large list of symbols, it is very likely that the alert will fire. This seems very strange and rather useless, is this a bug or the intended functionality? The "Show Chart Drawings for Different Symbols" checkbox is NOT checked on this chart. I do have drawings from this chart being displayed on other charts but none of those other charts have the "show drawings from other symbols" checkbox checked either. I want to be able to draw levels where I will get an alert (I am using an extending rectangle for this right now), but obviously I only want it to trigger for the symbol I am viewing at the time!! How can I do this? After discovering this undesired behavior, the only way I have found to restrict an alert to a specific symbol is to use the option under chart > Add Symbol Alert. This has two problems though, first it takes much longer to do this as I need to manually enter the desired price for the alert. Second, the alert does not show up visually on the chart. This is a critical feature for me, I'm just glad I found this out before wasting several hours setting up my alerts. Please tell me I am doing something wrong, and there is a way to do what I need? Help!! |
